What is the War Against Wall Street? This is an all out attack against the criminals on Wall Street who created the subprime mortgages and almost destroyed our country. We believe if there are not consequences, they will continue to do this. The same Big Brokerage firms created the High Yield Bond bubble, tech bubble and now the real estate bubble. And each successive bubble has gotten worse because they’ve become emboldened because they are never prosecuted. This must end now.

Who started this campaign? Bruce Lefavi, nationally syndicated radio talk show host, best selling author, president of Bruce A. Lefavi Securities, and Lefavi Wealth Management, an independent financial planning firm that believes that the industry must be cleaned up and it should be the tower of integrity rather than the tower of Babel.

Why should I mail a letter to my congressman? You should mail a letter to your congressman because I assume you’re as proud to be an American as I am. The only way to help America is to force our indolent congress and representatives to do the right thing and to finally do something useful and clean up the security industry so that it functions the way it should. If enough of us work together by calling, writing, and emailing the congressman, senators and president, we will make a difference. This is the only thing that makes a difference to them because one thing we know they care about is getting re-elected.

What do you suggest I do beyond the letter to make a difference?

1. Do not ever do business with one of the Big brokerage firms that is on our bad guy list. You can get a free copy of that by calling our toll free number (866) 702-7823. We are constantly updating the list.

2. Don’t buy any stock from the bad guys on the list or the holding company of the stock of the bad guys on the list. The only thing that matters to them is money. Let’s take it away from them.

3. Work with firms that are independent firms that are helping in the fight against Wall Street. Those are the good guys. There are plenty of them out there. Don’t do business with the bad guys.

What exactly did the “bad guys” do? The bad guys created the sub-prime mortgages. That’s the big brokerage firms in conjunction with the Hedge Funds. The big brokerage firms raised the money for the Hedge Funds so they could do subprime mortgages, helped them get financing and then helped them sell off chunks of sub-prime mortgages called tranches. The big brokerage firms also helped the Hedge Funds spin off their business to other Hedge Funds. Both the Hedge Funds and big brokerage firms made huge amounts of money from these transactions.

How do I find my congressman’s contact information? Click on the “find your congressman” link, and it will take you to all the contact information.

How do I help others to become involved? Help others to become involved by forwarding them this web address. When you send off a letter to congress, send a copy to at least five friends and ask them to participate as well. If we all work together, we can definitely make a difference. The people do have the power. Lets use it.

How do I get a copy of the worst investment companies? Call our toll free number (866) 702-7823. It’s free, it’s easy.

After mailing a letter to congress, if I don’t get a response, what should I do? Send a second letter and ask for a response. We have more than one sample letter. Feel free to use them. Make your own letter. A letter written by you is going to be better received than a form letter. But even a form letter is going to have an impact because they count them all.

After mailing a letter, what is the next step? Stay in contact with us by checking our website often. As you’ll see, the website will continue to grow with all kinds of information and ways that you can help. One thing you can do is to stay informed. Read all the things I write including my latest book which is called Bulletproof Retirement and in that is a section on the terrorist of Wall Street, of course, referring to the big brokerage firms.

How many people are currently involved in this war? We don’t know for sure because people can get the info off our website and send it to their friends. We believe there are many thousands involved and we are talking with corporations right now that are indicating that they are interested in sending our emails to all their employees and all their customers to also send things to congress - so it could be hundreds of thousands and millions in short order. With your help, we can make that happen.

Investing Questions:

How do I go about choosing a trustworthy financial planner? Call our office at (866) 702-7823 to get a copy of questions to ask a potential financial planner.

Is it a good idea to spread your money between several brokers (in relation to the Bernie Madoff ponzi scheme)? That can be an effective way to make sure nobody gets all your money. One of the things to remember is there are still honest people out there, believe it or not. I use two criteria when I evaluate anyone I am working with whether it is a mutual fund company or a estate planning attorney. 1. They have to have a great long term track record. 2. They have to be people of unquestioned integrity. If your investments are primarily in Mutual Funds, they keep all their money and stocks they acquire held at a third party. And that gives you a great deal of security. That is one of the problems that existed with Bernie Madoff, that did not happen. In fact, he retained control of all of the money himself which was a major conflict of interest that made his scheme possible.

What should I do if I have already lost a lot of money in the markets? If you have already lost a lot of money in the market, first thing to do is examine how well you did in relation to the market. If the market was down thirty and you were down twenty, then who ever you were working with did a pretty good job. If the market is down thirty and you are down forty, find a new advisor. (Refer to how to pick a financial advisor.) By the way, changing can be a double win. Because if you change to a better advisor your going to get better investments and tax write-offs on your losses. That’s a double win, a good thing! Selling at the bottom of the market, changing your advisor and staying in the market can be a very smart move.

I have cash ready to invest in the market, but am skeptical because of the current market swings…what do you suggest? Invest now. We don’t know if the market has hit the bottom, but it is close enough that bargains are stunning. High Yield bonds have been at an all-time low, the lowest they’ve ever been in history. Those are magical words and those are the words on which I always buy. And you should too. Since I made my buy recommendation on those, they are already up 9% at the time of writing this answer.

Where is the safest place for my money right now? Safest investment in the world is treasury bonds, but they only pay 3% if you buy a 30 year bond. Not what I normally suggest. The smart thing to do is to invest in the things that are unbelievably low. Like some of the financials where there are good companies that aren’t going to go under that are selling at 20 or 30 percent of what they were selling at before, or what I said above, High Yield bonds which are incredibly cheap.
